Chief Economist and Director, Economic Research and Statistics Division

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is seeking to fill two Director level positions: a Chief Economist and Director to lead the Economic Research and Statistics Division (ERSD), as well as a Director to lead and direct the activities of the Trade and Environment Division (TED).

The Chief Economist and Director, ERSD, will act as the recognized authority, expert and leader in advanced economic research on international trade issues and will manage the overall work of the team. He/she will lead and inspire the WTO's economic research agenda, including through interacting with academic and policy communities internationally; liaising with the economic units of other international agencies, as well as strengthening co-operation between international organizations in the field of merchandise and services trade statistics. He/she will also elevate the profile and advocate the incorporation of rigorous economic research and analysis into project design, implementation and evaluation.

Both positions require at least 15 years' experience in senior roles related to international trade and public policy in government or international organizations.
